July 27, 2021 – Upham’s Corner Health Center (UCHC) received a $100,000 grant from the Liberty Mutual Foundation as part of their COVID-19 Relief Initiative to help mitigate mental health challenges for low-income residents, such as those served by UCHC, as a result of COVID-19 and the economic downturn.
The disproportionate burden of COVID-19 among the racially and ethnically diverse neighborhoods of Boston, including North Dorchester, has been well documented. The long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to unfold, including mental health issues such as depression stemming from job loss and feelings of isolation. UCHC continues to experience an increased demand for mental health services. The support from the Liberty Mutual Foundation is timely and critical in helping UCHC meet the mental health needs of the North Dorchester and surrounding neighborhoods of Boston, Massachusetts.
We are pleased to partner with the Liberty Mutual Foundation in our shared commitment to improve the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
