February 25, 2021 – Upham’s Corner Health Center (UCHC) has been issued a $65,328.09 grant from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) to help fund Upham’s food distribution program with home-delivery service. The award will cover the costs of purchasing a refrigerated delivery van and refrigerator/freezer to enhance the food distribution system and better serve individuals in need.
In particular, the home-delivery of food donations from area partners, such as Catholic Charities and Dorchester Food Co-op, is critical to address the food access needs of low-income older adults and their families in the 21 neighborhoods of Boston served by Upham’s Elder Service Plan/Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (UESP/PACE) division, as well as home-bound patients of Upham’s Home Health Care and Upham’s Corner Health Center divisions.
We are pleased to partner with EOEEA in our shared commitment to strengthening the local food system and ensuring that individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth have access to food.
