Jagdeep (Jay) Trivedi, M.B.A.

Chief Executive Officer

Jagdeep Trivedi has been Chief Executive Officer since January 2016. He brings nearly twenty-five years of administrative leadership experience in medical device startups, managed care, and alternative payment strategies. Jay began at UCC in 2004 as the Operations Director of Upham’s PACE.

Jay received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Administration from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from Boston University.

Jay sits on the board of Community Care Cooperative, The Massachusetts League of Community Health Center, Boston HealthNet Corporation, Boston Medical Center’s Integrated Care Services, and the Center for Community Health Education, Research and Service (CCHERS). Jay is also Co-Chair of Massachusetts League of Community Health Center’s Boston Conference. Jay is also a member of the OCHIN Epic CEO Steering Committee.

Dr. Marjorie Janvier, MD, MPH

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Marjorie Janvier, MD, MPH is a dedicated community physician. She is deeply committed to health equity, improving health systems in community health, and patient education.

In 2015, Dr. Janvier joined the Adult Medicine staff at The Dimock Community Health Center where she provided primary and HIV specialty care. During her eight years at Dimock, Dr. Janvier held several leadership positions, including Clinical Director of Adult Medicine, Director of Care Management, and Medical Residency Director. She was named a Roxbury Hometown Hero in 2021, in recognition of her community dedication and leadership.

Dr. Janvier received a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management & Policy and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, she obtained her Medical and Master of Public Health degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at The Miriam Hospital/ Brown University.

Kevin Cherry

Chief Financial Officer

Kevin Cherry joined Upham’s Corner Health Center in 2021 to assume responsibility for the organization’s financial health and management. He arrived with a wealth of experience from Boston-area banking, consulting, education, and public health sectors, where he honed a specialization in educational and charitable funding, finances, and operational management. In recent years, he has held CFO roles at the Boston Renaissance Charter School, South End Community Health Center, and St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Mass.

 

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University, where he is also a member of the Board of Trustees. In addition, he has been on the boards of several Boston-area nonprofits and community organizations.

Maryellen Sheehan, M.B.A.

Chief Operations Officer, Health Center

Maryellen has over 25 years of healthcare operations experience and has been with UCC since 2016. Maryellen is committed to progressing patient care services and increasing access to care. She oversees UCC Health Center operations and facilities to ensure services offered to UCC patients; are efficient, streamlined, accountable, and satisfactory.

Since coming to the health center, Maryellen has led several projects to improve processes impacting patients and staff. She has developed a centralized call center, a form re-design process, staff career ladders, and improved the prescription refill request process and advanced appointment access.

Maryellen has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.

Nicole Smith

Chief Human Resources Officer

Nicole joined UCC in January 2019. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Nicole oversees HR operations, employee rewards & recognition, talent acquisition, employee relations, staff credentialing, and payroll functions for the entire organization.

Since arriving at the health center, she has added new employee benefits, implemented competitive staff salaries, and created an employee of the month program. In addition, Nicole has imposed a new HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking system.

Nicole attended Northeastern University for Human Resources Management and has over 21 years of human resources experience in community-based healthcare systems.

Nancy Roach

Chief PACE Program Officer (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly)

As Chief PACE Program Officer, Nancy is responsible for managing the PACE clinical and operation staff, preserving program integrity, and safeguarding the program’s mission. In addition, Nancy represents PACE at the UCHC corporate level and is the key contact for State and Federal regulators.

Nancy has worked in healthcare for over 35 years and has an operational background in programs caring for elders and persons with disabilities. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science and an English as a Second Language degree.

Maricely Pérez-Alers

Chief Sustainability Officer

As Chief Sustainability Officer, Mari leads initiatives that promote growth, build internal cross-collaboration, and strengthen external partnerships that support UCC’s mission.

Mari began at UCC in 2002 as a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) physical therapist and rehab manager. In her 21 years with PACE, Mari has held several leadership positions, including PACE Center Manager and Quality and Strategic Operations Director.

Mari holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology from Boston University and a Master’s and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH-Institute of Health Professions. She has completed a one-year intensive management and leadership program at the Boston University School of Management. Mari currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rosie’s Place and is an alumnus of LeadBoston.

Eileen Segale, R.N.C, M.S., M.P.H.

Chief Home Health Services Officer

Eileen has been the Director of the Home Care Department since 1987. She participated in securing funding and led the initial home-based Maternal Child Health, HIV, and PACE programs.

Before joining UCC, she held several direct care and leadership positions, including Head Nurse at Temple University Hospital; Research Nurse at Columbia University Hospital; MCH Nurse at Boston City Hospital; and Public Health Supervisor at Copan, Honduras (Peace Corps).

Eileen received her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration and Master of Science in Nursing and Adult Health from Columbia University.
