UCHC is playing an important role in the City’s strategy to reduce the number of improperly discarded needles and sharps and address the insufficient number of drop-off sites for needle collection.
The goal of Needle Take Back Day is to create a greater awareness about proper disposal and prevent needle disposal in household waste. There are many residents who use sharps as part of their regular medical treatment and have difficulty of finding safe drop-off sites.
