The Upham’s Community Care Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Training Program is a 12-month, full time residency training program for new graduate nurse practitioners to transition into clinic practice in a structured and supportive environment. This program will the following as part of the new provider’s weekly schedule:

  • Weekly precepted and mentored primary care clinic sessions
  • Weekly didactic sessions on high-yield primary care topics to expand provider knowledge and improve clinical skills
  • Direct and consistent feedback between residents and preceptors
  • Specialty rotations to bolster clinical knowledge
  • Quarterly feedback and evaluations from Residency Director and preceptors

Program Mission Statement:

UCC’s Postgraduate Nurse Practitioner Residency Program aims to  inspire and train a new generation of  Nurse Practitioners to achieve strong clinical competence in primary care. Graduates will thrive as effective and confident clinicians and leaders in the community health setting, thereby expanding access, improving delivery, and elevating the quality of care for all.
